Covid-19: The Situation Deteriorates and New Measures Come into Effect!

As the cases of people with Covid-19 had increased, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced new measures to help slow the pandemic. These measures came into effect today bringing remarkable changes.



Now Greece is divided into two zones, the surveillance zone and the danger zone. The surveillance zone constitutes conciliation of the green and yellow zones, the new measures that were added in this zone are the following. From now on members of the public have to wear a mask at all times, there is a curfew from 00:30 to 5:00 am, a 50% telework is announced in both public and private bodies, universities will take their classes online and finally when two or more people (at least three) were travelling on a car they have to wear masks unless they are first degree relatives. As for the danger zone all restaurants and bars are now closed, there is an exemption for restaurants that have the option of delivery or take away. The curfew that was already in place stays. Finally some cities have entered a mini lockdown due to the rage of Covid-19 cases. There is also mention that travelling from one county to another is not prohibited yet with a possible exemption in the cities that will enter in lockdown and hairdressers, hotels, retail stores and schools will remain in operation regardless of the zone they are in.



We all hope that the measures mentioned above will bring the best possible result in this situation.
